Manifesto

There are many great people that have figured things out long before us.  Let us learn from them to accomplish more.  This list of rules is merely a compilation of these great thoughts.

My rules.

  1. I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
  2. Simplicity is a virtue.
  3. You don’t know what you can get away with until you try.
  4. Always have fun; work hard and play hard.
  5. Treat people fairly.
  6. Being responsible sometimes means pissing people off.
  7. Never neglect details. When everyone’s mind is dulled or distracted the leader must be doubly vigilant.
  8. Organization doesn’t really accomplish anything. Plans don’t accomplish anything, either. Theories of management don’t much matter. Endeavors succeed or fail because of the people involved. Only by attracting the best people will you accomplish great deeds.
  9. Organization charts and fancy titles count for next to nothing.
  10. Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier.
  11. Companies need to realize their markets are often laughing. At them.
  12. If you tell people where to go, but not how to get there, you’ll be amazed at the results.
  13. A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan next week.
  14. The significant problems we face can not be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.
