Comment on Making Mac Lion Launchpad Useful by Tim

Thanks for this direct approach. Launchpad has been useless to me with mandatory entries that couldn't be removed. Pages and pages of cruft :)

I've also had a problem with the icons arbitrarily rearranging themselves virtually every time I open the damn Launchpad. I hear that this DB file can be permission-locked to stop the OS from modifying it at a whim, but it sounds mildly risky to adverse side effects.

I have a home in Chambersburg PA - not too far from Lurgan Greenhouses. Sometimes I want to tell everyone about it - sometimes I want to keep it to myself. The quality of the plants is excellent - never had any bugs or problems, unlike the big box store products. Pricing is excellent and the staff, while very quiet, is always willing to help.

I like the site Greg. I half agree with your opinion that blogs are like CB radios, but that's neither here nor there. Hope you're doing well... Go Obama!

Thanks,

Hi Greg,

I found this post while looking for a "handheld rain barrel pump" and I'm very interested in what yours looks like. I found the site with the Indian pump and parts, but I'm not sure which parts you actually used (you said just the nozzle). I would greatly appreciate it if you could give me the specs on the parts and perhaps even a picture.

Thanks for the post!

Barry,

Interesting product you have here. This easily takes care of the "winterization" issue most people would have. I didn't see anything on you site to handle the overflow issue. When the barrel is full you would want the water directed back down the normal discharge route so you do not end up with a drainage issue next to your house. In my retrofit I put the shutoff valve below the Y instead of above as you have. Yours looks much better though. I will post some photos later in the week.

Thanks,
Greg
